HOW TO CLEAN A MOTORCYCLE RACE SUIT?

Cleaning a motorcycle race suit is maintaining it. Cleaning your motorcycle race suit is as important as maintaining your motorcycle. A well-maintained bike gives you a smooth ride, and a leather suit provides you freshness, comfort, and protection.

We recommend you to give a complete clean to your leathers twice a year either you use it or not. Depending on usage and environmental conditions, you can clean it more than twice

Cleaning motorcycle race letters is a simple task, and the process includes;

1: Cleaning

Exterior
Interior

2: Dry

3: Condition

And it would be best if you had cotton cloth, soft brush (you can use toothbrush also), warm water, leather soap, leather wax, and leather conditioner. All these you can get easily from supermarkets or motorcycle shops.

1: Cleaning

Exterior

The process of cleaning starts with the inspection. First, place your leathers in a comfortable place. Thoroughly inspect your leather to find out areas that need special treatment. Most probably, the areas are zippers, perforation, and stitching joints where dust resides. Point out these areas and rub them brush softly with a mixture of warm water and leather soap. Keep soaking extra water cotton cloth. Once you are done with it, apply leather wax to your complete leather garment in a circular motion

Interior

Now, most of the suites come with a detachable mesh liner that is easy to take out and easy to wash. We recommend riders to have leather race suits with detachable lining. Fixed-lined suits are difficult to clean at home, and some of the parts may remain intact with germs or dust though they come with a sweat-wicking, anti-microbial liner. Turn your leather suit inside out and let it air out.

2: DRY

Once you are done with cleaning, hang out your suit and let it dry completely. Chose the place where air can flow throughout the suit. Don’t use any dryer to speed up the process. Let it take its time to dry

3: CONDITION

You can find many good quality conditioners, but always try to get a high-quality product. Cleaning and conditioning add years to leather suit age, finish, and softness.

Apply the conditioner on the suit directly or by the cloth and softly massage it all over the suit. As mentioned above, please pay close attention to stitching and perforation areas as they are more exposed and tend to rot and crack in the first place.

Congratulations, your cleaning has been completed; now hang the suit up somewhere to dry overnight. Your motorcycle leather race suit is ready to use with a fantastic look.
